Commissions

In recent years, Riitta has been involved in a number of exciting commission based projects, often
involving the recreation of historical textiles using methods similar to those used during the times
which the textiles represent.

Her customers include the Jorvik Viking Centre in York, the National Maritime Museum in London,
the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in Stratford upon Avon, the National Trust for Sutton Hoo Visitor
Centre, Lausanne Museum in Switzerland and St. Michael’s Church in Oxford. In 2003 she was also
commissioned to weave the fine linen cloth used to make the rochet worn by Rowan Williams for his
ordination as the Archbishop of Canterbury. More recently, she has just completed a series of six
large hangings that were commissioned by the National Trust for Newton House, Dinefwr Park and
Castle, Llandeilo.

Riitta has also produced work for many private clients, including rugs, wall hangings and tablecloths
for both modern and traditional homes. Please feel free to contact her if you would like to discuss
possible commissions.
